Gyro Grill (Queens, NY)

63-02 Woodhaven Blvd, Queens, NY 11374, T: 718-779-0900

Gyro Grill is a clean looking restaurant on busy Woodhaven Boulevard in Rego Park. It bills itself as a "Mediterranean" restaurant, but mainly serves as a classic gyros place (mostly take-out, even though it has some tables to eat-in). The menu is classic Greek with sandwiches, plates, and salads.

We order a pita + humus ($2.95), a gyros sandwich ($5.95), and some extra tzatziki ($0.75). The pita is good Greek bread ad the humus is fairly thick and has an olivy taste. The gyros comes on thick Greek bread, has a big pack of shaved meat (fairly classic US fare, but less greasy than normal), and fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, and tzatziki (which is tasty and thick).

VERDICT: 86/100
Gyro Grill is pretty good and decently priced, although I assume you can do better in NYC.
