Eduardo’s might be one of the weirdest places I
have ever eaten at. It is in the port district of Haifa, itself not fancy, and
even there it stands out for its underwhelming presence. It is so dimly lit that you think
it is closed and it has pictures of its food outside that make you think twice
about entering. In fact, it is one of the few places in the area that is totally empty
around lunchtime.
Eduardo’s is an Argentinian place – I’m coming with friends, who are regulars, so we never see the menu. It almost feels like they decide what we should eat.

We start with empanadas, which are small but tasty.
After that, there is a big sausage (chorizo),
which has a good consistency and taste, with potato salad. The pièce de
résistance, however, is the
humongous schnitzel, which comes covered with fries and fried egg. We had
called this order in, as they cannot always make them. The schnitzel is very
thin, but remarkably tasty and not that dry – particularly given the size and
thinness. The fries are very crispy. While not subtle in any way, shape or
form, it is an awesome binge dish!
VERDICT:
88/100
Eduardo’s serves good Argentinian food and the best
humongous schnitzel I’ve ever seen. Unbelievable it is so empty, although
Eduardo himself doesn’t seem to care.
