Imbiss Meinecke 27 (Berlin, Germany)

Meinekestraße 27, 10719 Berlin

Imbiss Meinecke27 is a beautiful old Imbiss just off the extremely expensive Kurfurstersamm. It looks almost exactly like a Belgian frituur inside. I assume it was built in the 1950s and has hardly been change since. It has the staples of a Berlin imbiss: bockwurst, Currywurst, fries, burgers, etc.

I get a Currywurst mit Pommess (5). I get extra mayo (+0.30) as they are quite skimpy on it. The fries are classic German, deepf ried at too low heat and therefore a bit saggie. The Currywurst is the best I have had so far in Berlin: snappy with a not overpowering sauce that has a slight kick. Excellent!

VERDICT: 89/100
Bit pricey but the place to go for Currywurst (just don’t take the fries).
